To be eligible to join the Clarion Federal Credit Union, you must fill out a membership card, which we keep on file at the Credit Union office. Information needed is: name, address, social security number, birth date, phone number, etc. You may elect to have a single name account or a joint account. If you elect to have a joint account, you cannot remove a name unless they agree to have it removed by signing off the account.

A $5 deposit is required to open your account, which purchases one credit union share. The $5 remains in your account until you wish to close it permanently. We do ask that you keep your account active - either through payroll deductions or regular deposits.

The Credit Union has expanded its field of membership to allow us to have even more members. We recently have been awarded a community charter that covers Clarion, Forest, Jefferson and Venango Counties. The definition of people we are allowed to serve is: persons who live, work (or regularly conduct business in), worship, or attend school in, and businesses and other legal entities located in Clarion, Forest, Jefferson, and Venango Counties, Pennsylvania. We are hoping to reach as many people as possible to let them know about the great products and services we have. More and more people are finding out that Credit Unions are a better alternative to banks. The character of the Credit Union is that our products will typically save our members money – whether it is through low to no service costs on deposit products or getting a great rate on a loan.

Benefits of Credit Union Membership:
  • Members are the owners
  • Credit unions are non-profit organizations
  • Offer lower loan rates and higher dividend rates than other financial institutions
